Doctor assaulted at Bhinmal Sub-District Hospital

A lawyer allegedly assaulted Dr. Nemichand Sanghvi, the Primary Medical Officer (PMO), at the Bhinmal Sub-District Hospital in Rajasthan. The incident, which occurred around 10:00 AM, reportedly began as a dispute regarding the salary of a female contractual worker at the hospital's OPD counter.

CCTV footage captured the altercation, showing the assailant slapping the doctor, grabbing his collar, and striking him on the head with a nameplate. Despite intervention from hospital staff, the assailant reportedly entered the chamber multiple times to continue the verbal abuse and physical assault.

Following the incident, medical professionals from the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the All Rajasthan In-Service Doctors Association staged protests, demanding better security for healthcare workers. Local police have registered a case for assault and obstructing public servants in the discharge of their duties, and are currently using CCTV footage to identify and locate the accused.
