Doctor Pham Dang Bang shares journey from academic failure to medical valedictorian

Dermatologist Pham Dang Bang, a former lecturer at Hanoi Medical University, has shared his academic journey from initial failure to becoming a top medical student. After failing his first attempt to enter Hanoi Medical University with a score of 16, he spent a year preparing and returned to achieve the top entrance score of 24.5.

His academic success continued as he graduated as the top general practitioner in 1999 and earned a distinction in his dermatology residency in 2004. Reflecting on his 25-year career, Dr. Bang emphasizes that pursuing medicine requires more than just academic ability; it demands passion and perseverance to navigate the long professional journey.
