Doctor seriously injured in knife attack in Istanbul's Tuzla district

An occupational health doctor, identified as B. A., was seriously injured in a knife attack at the Anadolu Organize Sanayi Bölgesi in the Tuzla district of Istanbul. The incident occurred around 09:00 on September 7.

The assailant, identified as S. A., is a former employee of the organized industrial zone and reportedly suffers from a psychological disorder. Following an argument, the suspect attacked the doctor with a knife. B. A. was transported to a hospital where they remain in critical condition.

Police tracked the suspect to a coastal area, where they were found attempting suicide by cutting their wrists. The suspect was apprehended by authorities, taken to the hospital for treatment, and the weapon used in the attack was recovered. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
