Doctors of the World and PPC promote healthy aging in Kozani

Doctors of the World, with the support of the Public Power Corporation (PPC), has implemented the ‘Self-Care 60+’ program in the Municipality of Kozani. The initiative focuses on prevention, self-care, and psychosocial empowerment for senior citizens.

During a three-day series of informative meetings held at local care centers, experts discussed practices to enhance health and autonomy, including proper nutrition, appropriate exercise, and fall prevention. The program also addressed emotional well-being, social contact, and mental activation to prevent isolation and build psychological resilience among the elderly.

In addition to supporting seniors, the initiative included sessions for healthcare workers and caregivers. These meetings emphasized the importance of recognizing physical and emotional exhaustion and encouraged caregivers to seek support for their own well-being.
