Documentary ‘Desobediente’ premieres in Buenos Aires

Desobediente documentary human rights Argentine cinema Historias Desobedientes Teatro Otamendi

The documentary ‘Desobediente’, directed by Federico Coringrato, is set to premiere at the Espacio INCAA Norita Cortiñas in Buenos Aires. The film explores the experiences of children of former repressors who reject their parents' crimes and actively advocate for democracy.

Featuring human rights activist Analía Kalinec, a founder of the ‘Historias Desobedientes’ collective, the documentary examines the ideological ruptures and identity conflicts faced by these individuals. The collective, established in Argentina in 2017, has seen similar movements emerge in Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Spain, and Germany.

The project includes testimonies from various judicial and academic figures and arrives amidst discussions regarding denialist discourse and the 50th anniversary of the coup d'état in Argentina.
