Documentary 'Early Saturday Morning' Premieres at Italy's Ischia Global Film Festival
The feature‑length documentary “U rano subotnje jutro” (English: “Early Saturday Morning”) directed by Bruno Pavić will debut at the prestigious Ischia Global Film Festival in Italy. Funded entirely by the civil‑society association U ime obitelji, the film records public prayer gatherings and protests on Ban Jelačić Square in Zagreb. It was selected for the festival’s competitive program “Docu is Beautiful” and will be streamed for free on the MyMovies.it platform from 12 July 18:30 to 15 July 18:30 for registered users.
Pavić, who also wrote the script and produced the film, says the project aims to present an unbiased view of the events, allowing viewers to draw their own conclusions. He noted the challenges of producing a film without public funding in Croatia and the need to obscure the association’s involvement to avoid potential labeling by festival programmers.
