Documentary film honors Vukovar defenders at Vinkovci screening

The documentary film ‘Dom tehnike 1991. Borovo naselje – Vukovar’ was recently screened at the Joza Ivakić City Theatre in Vinkovci. The film is dedicated to the fallen, missing, and deceased defenders who participated in the defense of the Dom tehnike position along the Danube River during the defense of Vukovar.

Veterans and family members shared testimonies during the event. Milenko Bilić, president of the association, noted that the project took two years of preparation to ensure factual accuracy. He highlighted that the Dom tehnike position was never actually captured; defenders only withdrew when faced with the threat of total encirclement following the occupation of Borovo naselje.

The screening also addressed the ongoing search for seven missing defenders. Family members, including the granddaughter of missing veteran Adam Podrugović, spoke about the long-term emotional impact on families still searching for information regarding their loved ones.
