Documentary films scheduled for screenings in Termoli and Venice

Several documentary film screenings are scheduled in Italy. In Termoli, the documentary ‘Ballata femmenella’, directed by Elettra Raffaela Melucci and Giovanni Battista Origo, will be projected on September 4, 2026. The film explores the history and culture of the transgender community of Naples, aiming to provide a dignified portrayal of their lives and struggles against social exclusion.

At the Venice International Film Festival, the docufilm ‘Anita delle Amazzoni’ is set to be presented on September 6, 2026, during the Venice Days section. Directed by Roberto Bianchin and Piero Fontana, the film chronicles the life of Anita Gambarutti Orfei, a prominent figure in the Italian circus tradition. The screening will include a debate titled ‘Fellini and the Circus’ and features members of the Orfei family.
