Venice Film Festival features boxing documentary and new short film

The documentary “La Nobile Arte” is scheduled for presentation at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival as part of the Venice Production Bridge program. Directed by Vincenzo Lamagna, the film explores the history and evolution of Italian boxing, spanning 110 years from the founding of the Italian Boxing Federation in 1916 to the modern era.

Produced by Nexting in collaboration with Rai Documentari and supported by the Italian Boxing Federation, the documentary uses ten symbolic rounds to cover themes such as social redemption, female boxing, ParaBoxe, and the sport's educational role. The presentation will feature excerpts and a discussion with director Vincenzo Lamagna, author Michela Pellegrini, producer Antonio Palmieri, and journalist Stefano Buttafuoco, who serves as the film's narrator.

Additionally, the short film “Puca,” written and directed by Sara Scalera, will receive its world premiere during the International Critics Week (SIC@SIC) at the festival. Set in the 1990s, the film is a coming-of-age story following three sisters on a summer afternoon, exploring the transition from childhood to adolescence through a blend of reality and imagination.
