Documentary Minä ja Riikka Purra explores Finnish politician's life

The documentary film Minä ja Riikka Purra, directed by Liisa Akimof, is set for theatrical release on October 30. The film follows the life and political work of Riikka Purra, the leader of the Finns Party and Finland's Minister of Finance.

Akimof, who describes herself as a “green-leftist,” gained access to Purra after previously interviewing her for a Yle series. The documentary captures Purra in various settings, including party events, press conferences, and her daily ministerial duties.

Critics and reviewers note that the film offers a look at the internal dynamics of the Finns Party, including its focus on immigration and identity politics. The film also features insights from party figures such as state secretary Slunga-Poutsalo and strategist Matias Turkkila.
