Documentary on Carla Lonzi to premiere in Italian cinemas

The documentary “Carla Lonzi – Dentro e fuori dal mondo,” directed by Francesca Archibugi, is set for release in Italian theaters. Following its reception at the Venice International Film Festival, the film explores the life of Carla Lonzi, a prominent art critic, writer, and co-founder of the feminist movement Rivolta Femminile.

Using archival footage, photographs, and previously unreleased materials, the film portrays Lonzi as both a radical intellectual and a private individual, examining her motherhood, personal relationships, and complexities. The production features contributions from Lonzi’s son, musician Battista Lena, who composed the score, as well as testimonies from figures such as Nanni Moretti and philosopher Maria Luisa Boccia.

Produced by Fandango and Rai Cinema, the documentary highlights Lonzi’s growing international recognition and her significant impact on feminist thought and contemporary art criticism.
