Documentary on photographer Nicola Scafidi to premiere at Glocal DOC

The documentary “È giunta l'ora”, directed by Nicola Maria Tella, Alberto Sotis, and Leandro Barichello, will be presented on November 11 at the MIV – Multisala Impero Varese as part of the fourth edition of Glocal DOC.

The film explores the photographic work of Sicilian photojournalist Nicola Scafidi, who documented significant moments of post-war Italy during the 1950s and 1960s. While working for the Palermo newspaper L’Ora, Scafidi captured historical figures and events including Salvatore Giuliano, Enrico Mattei, Mauro De Mauro, the Belice earthquake, and the social struggles led by Danilo Dolci.

The screening is free to the public, and the directors will be present to discuss the creation of the documentary and the rediscovery of Scafidi’s photographic heritage.
