Documentary ‘Por qué no escribo nada’ nominated for Cinerama Canarias Awards

The documentary ‘Por qué no escribo nada’, a co-production between Al Pati Produccions and IMACO 89, has received two nominations for the Cinerama Canarias Awards at the Festivalito La Palma. The awards ceremony is scheduled for September 11 in El Paso.

Isabel Fernández is nominated for Best Foreign Direction, appearing alongside filmmakers such as Pedro Almodóvar and Lav Díaz. Additionally, Mónica López is nominated for Best Canarian Female Performance. The film serves as an atypical biography of the writer Carmen Laforet, a central figure in post-Civil War Spanish literature known for her novel ‘Nada’. The project received support from various regional and national institutions, including the Government of the Canary Islands and the Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales (ICAA).
