Documentary 'Remember the Alamo' Raises Debate Over Sharia Law in Texas

A documentary titled “Remember the Alamo: Don’t Sharia My Texas” was released on July 4. Filmmaker Chris Burgard argues that a coordinated effort seeks to introduce Sharia law into the United States, with Texas as the primary target. The film opens with a recount of the 1836 Battle of the Alamo before shifting to claims that Dallas has become a “Mecca of the West.”

Burgard interviews former U.S. Representative Allen West, former FBI counter‑terrorism specialist John Guandolo, journalist Lara Logan, retired Army Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, and Muslim scholar Aziz Budri, founder of the Muslim Association of America. Segments also examine terrorist attacks on U.S. soil and the use of litigation, or “law‑fare,” by Islamic organizations. A portion of the documentary looks at violence against Christians in Nigeria, featuring a Nigerian journalist’s account.

Burgard told the Daily Signal the film was made to warn Americans and to “protect Texas and America from Sharia law.”
