Documentary screenings highlight social resistance and memory
Various documentary film screenings focusing on social resistance, memory, and environmental defense are scheduled.
In Avellaneda, the documentary ‘Juan Martín Jáuregui: Mi grito de victoria’ will be screened at the Espacio de Memoria El Infierno de Avellaneda. The film explores the life and legacy of Jáuregui and his resistance against paramilitary forces such as the Triple A. The event includes a debate regarding the contemporary influence of these structures.
Additionally, Cine Magaly will host screenings of ‘El Río del Perro’ and ‘Cantos de Batalla’. ‘Cantos de Batalla’ is a short film from Costa Rica that examines music as a tool for social mobilization and environmental protection. ‘El Río del Perro’ documents the isolation of Espino, a town in the Venezuelan plains, following a bridge collapse during the onset of the Venezuelan crisis.
