Dodge announces new high-performance Charger and police vehicle prototypes

Dodge is expanding its new Charger lineup with both high-performance consumer models and specialized law enforcement vehicles.

For the consumer market, Dodge announced the 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee Launch Edition. This model features a 3.0-liter twin-turbo SIXPACK engine equipped with larger 56mm Garrett turbochargers, producing 600 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque. Dodge CEO Matt McAlear stated the vehicle is designed to be the most powerful Super Bee ever produced.

Simultaneously, Stellantis is preparing for the return of the Charger to police fleets. A prototype Charger PPV was showcased at the Police Fleet Expo, featuring specialized equipment such as a central console for radios and computers, emergency lighting, and a partition separating the driver from rear passengers. Stellantis is reportedly collaborating with agencies like the Michigan State Police and the California Highway Patrol to refine the vehicle for pursuit requirements.
