Dodge Charger celebrates 60 years with limited‑edition Purple Haze paint for 2027 model
Dodge marks the Charger’s 60th anniversary by unveiling a new, factory‑exclusive paint called Purple Haze for the 2027 model year. The limited‑run color adds a high‑gloss finish that shifts from a deep purple in shade to a bright violet in sunlight, and carries a $795 surcharge. It will be offered on the entire 2027 Charger lineup, including the 420‑horsepower R/T, the 550‑horsepower Scat Pack Six‑Pack, and the all‑electric 670‑horsepower Daytona, with optional styling upgrades such as double Fratzog stripes and Mopar graphics.
The color will debut at the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals in Pennsylvania on July 10‑12. Dodge CEO Matt McAlear emphasized that color is a top purchase factor for Charger buyers, saying, “Customers don’t want to blend in; they want to stand out, just as they have since 1966.” The Purple Haze option is available for order now in the United States.
