Dodge Discontinues Durango SRT Hellcat as Stellantis Shifts to Electrification

Stellantis announced that production of the 2025 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat will end, marking the last model of the 710‑horsepower, supercharged V8 SUV. The vehicle, introduced in 2021 with limited annual output of fewer than 3,000 units, was praised for its 0‑60 mph time of 3.5 seconds but suffered from poor fuel economy (13 mpg city, 19 mpg highway) that conflicted with tightening emissions standards.

The discontinuation aligns with Dodge’s broader strategy to replace high‑performance internal‑combustion models with electric offerings. Stellantis highlighted its electrification roadmap, including the Charger Daytona EV concept, and expects future Durango variants to incorporate hybrid or fully electric powertrains by the mid‑2020s.
