Milwaukee Brewers lead Dodgers 2-0 in NLCS after Game 2 win
The Milwaukee Brewers have taken a 2-0 lead in the National League Championship Series (NLCS) after defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-4 in Game 2 at American Family Field.
William Contreras led the Brewers' offense, recording three hits and three RBIs, including a crucial fifth-inning solo home run to tie the game and a sixth-inning RBI single to secure the lead. The Brewers overcame three separate deficits during the contest. Milwaukee's bullpen delivered a historic performance, pitching five perfect innings to retire the final 15 Dodgers batters in order.
The Dodgers' pitching struggled as starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto was removed after just 2⅔ innings, allowing three runs. This marked the shortest postseason start of his career. Despite appearances by Shohei Ohtani and Teoscar Hernández, the Dodgers' offense remained largely ineffective in scoring positions. The series now moves to Los Angeles for Game 3.
In Game 1, the Brewers also secured a victory, establishing a momentum that has put the defending champions on the brink of elimination. The series is a best-of-seven format.
