Dodjie Simon submits OPM album for 2027 GRAMMY consideration

Filipino songwriter and executive Elzar ‘Dodjie’ Simon has submitted his album, ‘Best of All (The Music of Dodjie Simon)’, for consideration for the 69th Annual GRAMMY Awards. The seven-track collection of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) was released on August 11 and features various four-part vocal arrangements.

The submission includes the full album and two specific singles across four distinct categories: Best Global Music Album, Best Engineered Album (Non-Classical), Best Arrangement (Instruments and Vocals) for ‘Ikaw Lamang’, and Best Arrangement (Instrumental or A Cappella) for ‘Kulang Ang Paleta’.

Produced by Simon and choral conductor Joel Navarro, the project features several prominent Philippine musicians, including Moy Ortiz, Nica Tupas, Bianca Lopez-Aguila, and Joshua Cadeliña. A notable track, ‘Kulang Ang Paleta’, features a melody by National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab. Technical production was supported by recording engineer Martin Andrew Guevara and GRAMMY-winning mastering engineer Jett Galindo.
