Dodo reports record growth in Czech online delivery market

Logistics company Dodo reported its strongest first half in history, delivering over 3.7 million shipments, an 11% increase compared to the previous year. The growth is driven by increasing consumer demand for the convenience of online grocery shopping and the ability to select specific delivery time slots.

During the first half of the year, Dodo expanded or strengthened its partnerships with major retail chains Globus and Tesco. Despite the fact that online grocery sales currently represent a low percentage of the total food market in the Czech Republic, company leadership expects significant growth. CEO Michal Menšík noted that while the market has grown steadily, growth has accelerated this year as customers become accustomed to scheduled deliveries.

Data indicates that delivery demand peaks during morning hours, specifically between 9:00 and 12:00, and again in the late afternoon. Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest days for the service, with nearly 28% of all orders occurring over the weekend. COO Peter Menky emphasized that the key to future growth lies in the quality and predictability of the logistics process, ensuring customers receive their orders within their chosen windows.
