Dog health guidance for autumn exercise and dietary safety

As temperatures drop in autumn, dog owners are advised to manage physical activity carefully to prevent injuries. Lower temperatures can cause muscles and tendons to lose elasticity, increasing the risk of limping if dogs resume high-intensity exercise too quickly. Because dogs do not show signs of overheating as easily in cooler weather, they may overexert themselves beyond their current aerobic capacity. A gradual increase in exercise duration—no more than 10% per week—is recommended to allow for physical reconstruction.

Regarding nutrition, speculoos biscuits are not suitable for dogs due to their high caloric density and ingredient composition. These treats contain high levels of fats and sugars, which can contribute to obesity, and salt levels that may impact kidney health. Additionally, certain spices used in such biscuits can be toxic to a canine's metabolism, and high fat content may trigger pancreatitis in sensitive animals.
