Dog Pack Attack Injures Child in Guarapuava, Brazil; Stabbing Death of Dog in Paraná

On June 30, an 11‑year‑old boy was attacked by a pack of nine dogs while walking to a soccer field in Guarapuava, Paraná. Security‑camera footage showed the assault and two adults, including the dogs’ owner, watching without intervening. The child suffered multiple bites to his legs, was taken to a health clinic and remains traumatized. Police opened an investigation into possible animal‑neglect and assault charges.

In Almirante Tamandaré, near Curitiba, a dog was found with several stab wounds. Despite rapid veterinary care, the injuries were fatal and the animal was euthanized. The perpetrator has not yet been identified.
