Dog rescue operations save abused canines in Colombia and Spain

In Dosquebradas, Colombia, municipal authorities responded to a citizen complaint about four dogs in critical neglect. The mayor's office, environmental police, and a veterinary team rescued the animals, found severe malnutrition and unsanitary conditions, and placed the dogs in a protective foundation while detaining the alleged abuser for animal‑cruelty charges.

In Granadilla de Abona on Tenerife, Spain, Guardia Civil agents from SEPRONA and rural guards inspected a rural property after a tip about a large number of dogs. They found 49 hunting dogs living in poor hygiene, with many showing severe malnutrition; only 19 were registered with microchips. The owner was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty and handed to judicial authorities.

Both incidents illustrate coordinated law‑enforcement and veterinary actions against animal‑abuse cases in different countries.
