Dog rescued from Brazilian fire, Spanish cat reunited after blaze

A woman and her dog were rescued from a fire that broke out in an apartment on Avenida Beira Mar III in Itapoá, Santa Catarina, Brazil. Firefighters contained the blaze, saved the resident through a balcony, and used extensive water and ventilation to clear smoke. The woman was examined but did not require medical treatment.

Two days later in Eslida, Castellón, Spain, volunteer rescuers from RASE Resgate Animal entered the burning home after police clearance and retrieved a cat, Mishi, that the owner Julia Marí had been forced to leave behind. The cat was reunited with its owner at a local sports centre, highlighting the role of animal‑rescue teams during emergencies.
