Monte Grande: neighbors rescue dog allegedly buried alive

In Monte Grande, Argentina, neighbors rescued a dog named Rocky after filming a man allegedly attempting to bury the animal alive in a pit. The man reportedly placed a stone over the hole to prevent the dog from escaping.

Following the rescue, Rocky was treated by the municipal Urban Guard and transferred to a veterinary clinic in Buenos Aires. Medical professionals determined the dog is in critical condition, suffering from advanced distemper, respiratory difficulties, and a severe infestation of ticks. The animal is currently hospitalized and under the care of the organization Colmillitos al Rescate.

Local residents intend to file formal animal cruelty charges using the video footage as evidence. Under Argentine law, animal cruelty is a punishable offense that can carry prison sentences ranging from 15 days to one year.
