Dog survives venomous snake bite in Muna, Yucatán
A dog named Tyson has recovered after surviving a bite from a huolpoch snake, a highly venomous species also known as the Yucatecan Cantil, in the municipality of Muna, Yucatán.
The incident occurred on a Sunday night while the animal was protecting its home and family. The owner, Heydi Castro, faced significant challenges in securing medical assistance due to the late hour and limited availability of veterinary services. Castro reported receiving discouraging advice from some individuals, including suggestions to euthanize the animal, but she eventually secured the necessary antivenom through assistance from a local pharmacy.
One week after the attack, the family confirmed that Tyson has fully recovered and has returned home in good condition.
