Dogecoin Foundation terminates exclusive House of Doge licensing deal

The Dogecoin Foundation and House of Doge have mutually terminated their exclusive licensing agreement, effective October 19, according to SEC filings. As part of the settlement, House of Doge and its U.S. subsidiary must change their corporate names to remove the “Doge” branding by December 31.

The termination ends House of Doge’s status as the foundation’s official commercial partner and removes its rights to exclusivity and sublicensing. The House of Doge subsidiary owes the foundation a negotiated termination payment of $400,000, which may be settled in cash, parent-company shares, or a combination of both.

Dogecoin Labs has been introduced as the foundation’s new official commercial partner. Led by CEO Jordan Jefferson, the organization will manage products including the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS application layer, and the Such App merchant payments tool.

A replacement non-exclusive license allows for the continued use of the Dogecoin and DOGE names and logos for three specific 21Shares products: the Dogecoin ETF, the Dogecoin ETP, and the 2x Long Dogecoin ETF. This license is set to expire on October 19, 2029.
