Dogecoin hits two-week high amid short squeeze and volume surge
Dogecoin (DOGE) has experienced a price rally, reaching a two-week high of $0.073 and trading near $0.0721. This upward movement follows the asset holding the $0.07 support level and moving above its 9-day and 21-day moving averages.
The rally appears to be driven by leveraged demand and a short squeeze, resulting in over $1.5 million in short position liquidations. Trading volume rose 72% to over $500 million, while market capitalization increased by 13% to $12.3 billion. Additionally, futures netflow rose 172% to $9.36 million, and derivatives volume increased by 114% to $1.22 billion.
Technical analysis indicates a potential trend reversal, as Dogecoin closed candles above several key moving averages, including the 200 MA on the 4-hour timeframe. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) has moved into bullish territory at 53, suggesting buyers have gained control. Analysts are watching for whether the price can break the $0.075 resistance level to target $0.08.
