Dogecoin whales accumulate 240 million tokens as price hovers near $0.08
Over the past week, large Dogecoin holders bought more than 240 million DOGE, raising whale holdings from about 18.60 billion to roughly 18.84 billion tokens. This accumulation coincided with the price trading around $0.083, near a historically significant support zone at $0.081 where approximately 30 billion DOGE last changed hands.
Technical analysis shows mixed signals: the Tom DeMark Sequential indicator has issued a buy signal after previously flagging a 31% decline, while other metrics such as MACD, Bollinger Bands and the 20‑period moving average point to bearish pressure. Dogecoin’s market capitalization stands at about $14.2 billion with daily exchange volume near $593 million. Analysts note that if the price can reclaim the $0.118 level, it could represent a 47% gain from current levels.
The market remains cautious, with futures open interest down 3.1% and traders watching the $0.081 cost‑basis zone for potential buying interest.
