Dogmatix: Theories on the breed of Asterix's favorite dog

The fictional character Dogmatix, the small white dog from the Asterix comic series created by Albert Uderzo and René Goscinny, has inspired various theories regarding his real-world breed inspiration.

Four primary theories exist: the West Highland White Terrier, due to its appearance in live-action adaptations; the ancient Melitan (Maltese), which would be historically accurate for the Gallic setting of 50 BC; and the Irish Wolfhound, used by Celts as guardians.
