Dogs provide emotional support at Cassems Hospital in Dourados

The Cassems Hospital in Dourados implemented a humanization initiative featuring visits from therapy and service dogs. The event included Golden Retrievers named Alfredinho and Maya, as well as Mago, a German Shepherd from the Mato Grosso do Sul Military Police K9 unit.

Organized by the hospital’s humanization working group, the activity aimed to provide emotional relief and break the routine for hospitalized patients, their companions, and medical staff. Medical professionals noted that the interaction helped alleviate the tension of hospitalization and improved the atmosphere for both patients and employees.
