Dogviolet releases debut EP ‘Wilting’

London-based post-punk and ethereal-grunge quartet Dogviolet has released their debut EP, titled ‘Wilting’. The four-track collection blends elements of gothic, shoegaze, and grunge with folk-infused melodies.

Using botanical imagery as a metaphor, the EP explores themes of inherited trauma, social injustice, and familial expectations. Lead vocalist Naz Toorabally describes the title as a symbol of resilience, noting that while wilting may suggest an end, hope remains if the right conditions are provided. The tracks ‘Daisy Crowns’ and ‘Daughter’ draw from personal experience, while ‘Fig Leaves’ and ‘Black Walnut’ address broader global issues.

The EP was produced by band member Ella Patenall and recorded alongside Tom Hill. The band has scheduled several tour dates across the UK, including performances in London, Manchester, Brighton, Bristol, Northampton, and Birmingham.
