Doha Hamad International Airport expands lounge and garden facilities as Qatar Airways rolls out A350‑1000 Qsuite

Doha's Hamad International Airport has added The Orchard, a 6,000‑square‑metre indoor tropical garden featuring over 300 trees, 25,000 plants and a 575‑square‑metre water feature, created as part of the terminal expansion for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The airport also opened the new Al Mourjan Business Lounge – dubbed “The Garden” – in April 2023. Spanning nearly 80,000 sq ft, the lounge can host up to 707 guests and includes 24 quiet rooms, a spa, a fitness studio, shower suites and multiple dining areas.

Qatar Airways operates its flagship A350‑1000 on the LAX‑DOH polar route, offering Qsuite business‑class cabins with fully enclosed private suites. Passengers reported meals such as lamb curry with labneh, Arabic coffee with dates, and a mid‑flight World Cup‑themed turkey‑chorizo hot dog. The aircraft provides complimentary Starlink satellite internet delivering up to 300 Mbps, a notable upgrade in in‑flight connectivity. Flight crew noted that the long‑haul route is limited to once per month per attendant due to radiation exposure concerns.
