Doina Caramzulescu, iconic Radio Vacanța voice, passes away
Doina Caramzulescu, the emblematic voice of the Radio Vacanța radio station, has passed away at the age of 79.
A graduate of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Caramzulescu was one of the original announcers and creators who helped launch the Mamaia-based station in 1967. She was a key member of the team at the station's original location in Villa 27.
Known as ‘Doamna Radio Vacanța’, she was recognized for providing a sense of freedom to listeners during the communist era through her broadcasts. Her work contributed to the station's reputation for offering programming in multiple languages, including English, French, German, Russian, and Italian.
