Doja Cat introduces anime-inspired blush trend

Singer and rapper Doja Cat has showcased a new makeup trend inspired by Japanese anime aesthetics during her 31st birthday celebration. The event, themed around the Japanese brand Sanrio, saw the artist dressing as the character Mocha.

The look features a specific blush technique known as “anime blush,” which differs from traditional application. It involves applying intense pink pigment to the cheeks and across the bridge of the nose, supplemented by diagonal lines on the cheeks to mimic expressions of shyness or excitement found in anime illustrations.

This monochromatic style is paired with pink lips, matching eyeshadow, bright accents in the inner corners of the eyes, and emphasized black eyelashes. The look was created by her makeup artist, Nunez.
