Dokter Tifa faces second indictment in Jokowi diploma case

The East Jakarta District Court held a hearing on Thursday, August 27, 2026, regarding the second indictment in the defamation case involving Tifauzia Tyassuma, also known as Dokter Tifa. The case concerns allegations made by Tifa regarding the authenticity of the diploma of Indonesia's 7th President, Joko Widodo.

Tifa stated her readiness to face the proceedings, expressing her intention to comply with the law while asserting that she aims to uphold justice. She indicated that she has prepared witnesses and experts to support her research and evidence concerning the diploma allegations.

This hearing follows a previous legal process where the court accepted Tifa's exception, halting the trial at the interlocutory judgment stage because the prosecutors' indictment was deemed imprecise for citing both old and new criminal codes. Following this, prosecutors revised the indictment and resubmitted the case to the East Jakarta District Court in late July 2026.
