Dokuz Eylül University Hospital boosts doctor staff, reopens emergency unit

Under the leadership of Rector Prof. Dr. Bayram Yılmaz, Dokuz Eylül University Hospital (DEÜ) has significantly expanded its qualified medical personnel. The number of assistant doctors in the Emergency Medicine Clinic rose from four in early 2024 to thirty‑eight, and several new specialists and practitioners have been appointed across various departments.

The hospital’s previously closed emergency service was reopened within a month, a rapid turnaround credited to coordinated efforts with the Turkish Ministry of Health, the transfer of doctors from regional directorates, and intensive recruitment. The expansion aims to improve patient care, medical education, and research activities at the university hospital.
