Dokuzpınar Village Residents Receive Land Titles After 18‑Year Wait

In the Bulanık district of Muş Province, Turkey, 84 former residents of Dokuzpınar village were handed official land titles for their new settlement. The titles were issued at a ceremony in the Bulanık Kaymakamlığı meeting hall, attended by District Governor Ömer Övünç Koşansu, Tapu Office chief Harbi Kaplan, village headman Aydın Saatçi, local businessman Cemil Alimoğlu, and the title holders themselves.

The villagers had been displaced since 2008 when the Alparslan‑1 Dam flooded their original homes. After 18 years of waiting, the authorities completed the registration process, delivering the deeds one by one. Koşansu noted that the administration had worked intensively to resolve the long‑standing grievance and pledged further infrastructure support, including the start of an 18‑kilometre road improvement project and other investments in the village.

Residents expressed relief and gratitude, with several speaking about the emotional significance of finally receiving legal ownership of their property.
