Dolegna del Collio river cleanup initiative targets flood prevention

The Legambiente Udine circle is participating in the ‘rigenerAZIONE’ initiative organized by the Brigate di Solidarietà Attiva. The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, starting at 15:30 at the Ponte di Trussio in the Ruttars locality of Dolegna del Collio.

The initiative focuses on extracting woody material from the Judrio river to aid in territory maintenance and flood prevention. This follows significant flooding in November 2025 that affected the Versa area and the Collio region. The activity adheres to regional law L.R. 11/2015, which permits the collection of floating timber with proper authorization.

In addition to the river cleanup, the day includes the opening of an outdoor memory museum, creative workshops for children, and community activities such as a cake competition and a shared dinner in Cormons.
