Dolina Lutyni Nature Reserve established in Jarocin

The Dolina Lutyni Nature Reserve has been officially established in the Jarocin municipality, within the Jarocin district of the Wielkopolska region. The management order was signed on September 25, 2026, and published in the Official Journal of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship on September 28, 2026.

Spanning approximately 76.93 hectares, the reserve covers the central, breakthrough section of the Lutynia River and is managed by the Jarocin Forest District. An additional 9.58-hectare buffer zone has been designated to protect the area from external environmental factors.

The reserve aims to preserve rare lowland river breakthroughs, scenic ravines, and well-preserved riparian forests. The area also features natural springs and the presence of the giant horsetail (Equisetum telmateia), a species listed on the Red List of vascular plants in Wielkopolska. The creation of the reserve is part of the ‘100 reserves for the 100th anniversary of State Forests’ initiative.
