Dollar Tree faces lawsuit over alleged sexual assaults in San Diego

A lawsuit has been filed against Dollar Tree in San Diego Superior Court following allegations of sexual assaults occurring at a store on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard. Three women reported that they were targeted by a man who approached them closely while they were shopping, leading them to discover substances on their clothing or hair.

A 22-year-old U.S. Marine stationed in the area has been charged with misdemeanor lewd conduct and misdemeanor sexual battery in connection with the three incidents, which reportedly occurred over two weekends in March 2025. The defendant's attorney, Isaac Blumberg, stated that his client denies any wrongdoing.

The legal action accuses the retailer of failing to protect customers from sexual predators. One plaintiff alleged that a manager informed her that the surveillance camera covering the aisle where the incident occurred was not functioning. The lawsuit notes that at least 11 women across the country have described similar encounters at various Dollar Tree locations, with some alleging the behavior has gained notoriety through disturbing online subcultures.
