Dollar Tree sued over alleged sexual assault trend in stores

Dollar Tree is facing a lawsuit in San Diego following allegations that its stores have been the site of a sexual assault trend known online as ‘gooning’. The civil suit, filed on behalf of a woman identified as Jane Doe, alleges that men have been targeting unsuspecting female shoppers by wiping semen on them.

The lawsuit claims that at least 11 women nationwide have been victims of these assaults. In San Diego County, the suit highlights three separate incidents occurring within a single week in March 2025 at a Dollar Tree location on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard. San Diego police identified 22-year-old Noe Gonzalez Cresencio as a suspect in the Clairemont incidents.

Attorneys for the plaintiffs argue that Dollar Tree had direct notice of the danger but failed to take adequate action. The suit alleges the company failed to increase security, repair non-functional surveillance equipment, or warn customers about the ongoing pattern of behavior.
