Dollarama to convert The Reject Shop locations after $259M deal
Dollarama is set to expand its presence in Australia following a $259 million acquisition of The Reject Shop. Over the next three years, the company plans to open new stores and convert existing locations.
Regional manager Ricky McCurley noted that the Dollarama name will be slowly integrated once 70 to 80 per cent of the fleet has been updated. As part of the transition, stores are undergoing renovations to feature brighter layouts, expanded aisles, and more stock capacity. For example, the Bega store recently reopened with a revamped aesthetic and increased shelving.
In addition to physical upgrades, stores are beginning to stock Dollarama products, with some locations expected to carry up to 2,000 specific items by January. Recent openings and conversions in the Australian Capital Territory and Moruya have reportedly received positive feedback regarding the new layouts and product ranges.
