Dolly Parton and Billie Eilish featured in new music book

The upcoming book ‘On the Records’, scheduled for release on November 17, features 80 musical artists discussing underrated or overlooked albums that significantly influenced their work.

Dolly Parton contributes an essay on ‘Mama Sings’, a posthumous collection of traditional songs recorded by her mother, Avie Lee Parton, in the 1970s. Billie Eilish discusses the 2014 album ‘Shake Shook Shaken’ by the French-Finnish duo The Dø, an album she previously noted as a primary inspiration during the creation of ‘Happier Than Ever’.

Other notable contributors include Brian Eno, Erykah Badu, Krist Novoselic, and Justin Vernon. The collection includes diverse musical perspectives, ranging from Karen O on post-punk to Black Thought on funk and Willie Colón on jazz.
