Dolly Parton cancels Dollywood appearance due to health issues
Dolly Parton, the 80-year-old country music icon, canceled a scheduled appearance at her Dollywood theme park in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, due to ongoing health issues. She was intended to attend the opening ceremony for the park's new NightFlight Expedition roller coaster but instead joined the event virtually from Nashville.
Parton explained to fans via video that her doctor advised against traveling this week, noting that she has been experiencing dizziness and dehydration. She stated, “My Nashville doctor clipped my wings, saying you ain’t traveling this week.”
The singer has faced several health-related setbacks over the past year, including the cancellation of a planned Las Vegas residency and managing the physical and emotional toll following the death of her husband, Carl Dean, in 2025. Parton expressed her intention to keep fans “in the loop” regarding her condition.
