Dolly Parton shares health update and plans for avatar performances

Dolly Parton, the 80-year-old country music icon, has provided an update on her health, revealing that she is managing medical issues she previously neglected while caring for her late husband, Carl Dean, who passed away in March 2025.

Parton noted that her health challenges, including dizziness and dehydration, recently led her to cancel a Las Vegas residency and miss a scheduled appearance at her Dollywood theme park. She remarked that social media often magnifies such news, jokingly calling herself the ‘Queen of Social Media AI.’

Despite these setbacks, Parton remains active in her professional life. She is currently exploring the development of ‘avatar performances’ to reach fans and is working on several major projects, including a new Broadway musical, a coffee brand, and the Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville, which is set to open in late 2026.
