Dolly Parton: CMA announces tribute special amid estate legal battle

Following the death of Dolly Parton on August 25 at age 80, the Country Music Association (CMA) and ABC have announced a two-hour live television tribute titled ‘CMA Presents I Will Always Love You: A Celebration of Dolly Parton.’ The special is scheduled to air on October 21 and will be filmed at Belmont University’s Fisher Center for the Performing Arts in Nashville. The star-studded lineup includes approximately 20 performers such as Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Lainey Wilson, and Vince Gill, alongside a Belmont University student ensemble. Proceeds from the event will benefit Parton’s Imagination Library.

Simultaneously, Parton’s estate is engaged in a legal battle with her nephew, Bryan Seaver, the singer’s former head of security. She’s Alive LLC, the company managing Parton’s business empire, alleges that Seaver has attempted to evade legal service by using barbed wire and ‘no trespassing’ signs at his residence. The estate also claims Seaver engaged in threatening and extortionate behavior. Seaver has denied the allegations, describing the restraining order as ‘spurious’ and stating that his previous comments regarding security were taken out of context.
