Dolly Parton's brother Coy “Denver” Parton dies at 82 in Tennessee

Coy “Denver” Parton, the older brother of country music icon Dolly Parton, died on July 23 at the age of 82. The Sevierville, Tennessee native spent his life working as a crane operator, homestead farmer and avid hunter. He was one of twelve children born to Avie Lee Owens Parton and Robert Lee Parton.

His obituary lists two daughters, Chris and Jennifer Parton, a grandson, Ian Parton, a brother, Bobby Parton, and seven sisters – Willadeene Buzzeo, Dolly Parton, Stella Parton, Cassie Griffith, Freida Parton, Rachel George and Laura Price – among his survivors. The family has announced that services will be private. The death comes a little more than a year after Dolly Parton’s husband, Carl Dean, died at age 82 in March 2025 and follows earlier family losses, including the 2021 death of sibling Randy Parton.
