The Seibu Shibuya Store is scheduled to close at the end of September 2026. Once a major trendsetter in the Shibuya area, the department store has seen a decline in brand presence in recent years.
The closure is reportedly due to a failure to reach an agreement with the landowner regarding the continuation of the lease agreement. While the department store itself will cease operations, the Movida building, which houses Loft and MUJI, is expected to remain.
